User Interface Designer

Job Description:

User Interface Designer opening in Burbank, CA (Greater Los Angeles area) for one of the world's largest providers of production and post-production services to the motion picture industry, broadcast and cable industry producers, advertising and ancillary home video and DVD markets.

 

Our ideal candidate would have expert knowledge of human computer interaction, user-centered design principles, Human Factors Engineering, interaction design and information architecture; a strong portfolio showing critical thinking in the development of the user experience for consumer products and services; intimate understanding of product development processes and methodologies; and hands-on command of the design tools needed to communicate detailed specifications, workflow and wireframes. Working knowledge of Flash, XML, HTML, CSS and media formats. Multi-platform experience i.e. set top box, Internet, and mobile a plus.

 

·         Minimum 5 years of experience in user interaction and user interface design for consumer products and services

·         Recent experience in a collaborative product development environment

·         Experience in search and database design a plus

·         Experience with agile development sprints, scrums etc.

·         Media & Entertainment experience a plus

·         Experience with Flash as a prototyping tool

 

This position reports to the VP of the Creative Competence Center within the Advanced Development Center. This role supports prototyping and design efforts for Thomson/Technicolor products. The User Interface Designer's focus will be on business and user requirements gathering; use case development; creating detailed workflow and wireframes; usability testing; documentation; and to promote the discipline of user experience design within the company. The User Interface Designer will work with members of the CCC design team, as well as with our product management, engineering, marketing, and QA groups. The candidate has the ability to quickly grasp and distill highly complex matters into clean, understandable solutions.
